RDN Meeting with Tony Burke MP

Today, Rideshare Driver Network members had a lengthy and constructive meeting with the Honourable Tony Burke MP, Shadow Industrial Relations Minister. He listened and noted just about every concern drivers have with Uber and other companies.

 

 

Labor have a very different plan for workplace law. Instead of categorising workers as either employees or independent contractors, or creating a third category, they want to have all workers subject to fair work commission rulings that would give all workers rights according to the terms they work under. Hourly rates, leave, safety, protections against unfair dismissal, super - it’s finally within our reach. Let’s see how this develops.
